catrin and di finally arrived in chamonix after a drive that seemed to last forever....yawn...
we have based ourselves in the valley of scarey climbable north faces and even scarier skiable north faces.
with this weekend being easter holidays, we avoided the chamonix valley like the plague and hit the snow around near les contamines.

settled weather for the next few days so we're back to the mountains with the crampons and tools later on this afternoon....
oh, you may (or may not) have noticed that i've added a heap of links for alpine stuff. this is purely a selfish act since i always have a bit of a mare and forget which sites i normally look at:)
