With the exception of climbing 'Smith's Gully' on Creag Meagaidh on Sunday - a 180m **** V,5 which is "a tremendous climb of great character, continuously steep and sustained.  Despite the passage of time, it is still considered to be one of the hardest traditional Scottish gullies" Ben Nevis SMC Guidebook - Di has been based in the Cairngorms.

The general theme is snow and lots of it and when combined with the low thick cloud, you encounter some of the most challenging navigation that Scotland has to offer.

The abundance of snow on the East is still providing some of the best Ski Mountaineering conditions that there has been for many years.
